Not too bad Creamy and spicy
Incredibly soft, rounded and moreish, such an easy drink to enjoy yet it has a pleasing complexity. I'm really a straight-up rum guy but I'm totally sold on this. Marries the two spirits profiles wonderfully. Will buy again.
This irish whiskey is rather harsh and astringent. Underneath I can taste a bit of orange and chocolate, but it's hidden deep below the bitter surface. Underwhelms compared to other 12 year irish whiskeys.
Poured a dram Fresh fruity nose - soft plummy raisin Waited a bit Tasted it - lovely - clean and fruity - Complex (could be a cousin of Aberlour Abunadh) Added a tiny bit of water Wonderful The cork will stay on the table top for a while....
I hope the previous reviewer realised eventually that this is not rum. :-) I find this dram dissapointing, even more so because I think the underlying whiskey is not bad. But this rum finish is hamfisted, probably because the rum itself is of low quality.
