Vanilla Burst - Wemyss Family Collection
One of the two initial releases from the Wemyss Family Collection, an annual series of blended malts launched in 2017 highlighting a specific influence on whisky flavour profiles. Vanilla burst is based around the influence of bourbon casks, and features whisky from two Speyside distilleries, drawn from 15 first fill ex-bourbon barrels. A release of 4,800 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Baked apples smothered in caramel and topped with chocolate chips. Mouthwatering stuff.
Palate
Dried pear and mango, flaky pastry, Custard Cream biscuits and soft cedar hints.
Finish
A lingering hint of marmalade.
