The Hive Batch Strength (Wemyss Malts)
Wemyss' gloriously honey'd blended malt The Hive has received a Batch Strength variation! Bottled at 54.5% ABV (the < ahref="/whiskies/wemyss-malts/the-hive-wemyss-malts-whisky/" target="_blank">original expression is bottled at 46%), this is bursting at the seams with floral honey and citrus notes.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cooked fruit and Sherried orange peels, with a layer of honey covering it all.
Palate
Intense waves of brown sugar, cinnamon and honeycomb. Slightly chocolatey, too.
Finish
A very subtle touch of smoke underneath yet more warming honey.
