Virginia Black is a collaboration between Brent Hocking (who created the DeLeón Tequila range) and Drake. Yes, Drake the Canadian rapper and actor. That Drake. A very handsomely presented expression, made using a combination of 2, 3, and 4 year old bourbon.
Brown sugar, salted popcorn, glace cherries.
Toasted marshmallow, hot cinnamon and green apple slices. Generous helpings of caramel, too.
Black pepper and sweet cinnamon notes remain.

Nice bottle, perfect as a gift ( well presented in black box ) The colour is beautiful.Dark whiskey. Delicate smell of brown sugar, vanilla, toffee and rum. Teste: sweet bourbon oak vanilla maple syrup and sugary short finish. Nice American (easy drinking ) whiskey probably good with your favourite mixer (cola, lemonade) but great on its own.
We enjoyed the smoothness and sweet finish. It had a pleasant comexity that could be enjoyed by new and experienced whiskey drinkers.
I am with the “Get a life” review..why do so called celebs insist on putting their name behind crap Whiskies in the hope the gullible will pay over the odds for a Bourbon that tastes more like Southern Comfort or Amaretto than Whisky..sickly sweet and like drinking a bag of liquid pick and mix sweets.Just think what £35 could buy instead (Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Old Grandad) do not believe the hype and as equally awful as the music of the man behind this insult to Bourbon.
I have been drinking bourbon for years and have my fair share of cheap bourbon along with getting to try some of the best money could buy. I bought this bottle because it peeked my interest. Coming from Drake it had to be smooth because he is trying to appeal to club people and the ladies I assume. Now that being said I enjoyed this bottle along with my wife. I will say that the nose was excellent, the palate was pretty good. However the finish was kinda bland and lacked the bite that I am use to. Not a bad bourbon at all but not my top pick either. It really falls in that middle area of it's decent. It pairs well with a coke but is just fine by itself.
Purchased without any expectations, but it's actually quite good and is easily better than other bourbons in this price range. Nice silky texture with a smooth finish.
