“I don't do reviews because my taste buds are not yours, and I don't want to spend 5 hours with the English Dictionary coming up with superlatives to become a member of "that" club. But I thought I would take the time and effort to do one for this, because it's worth it. I purchased this for my mate who loves Irish whiskey, so far I haven't really been bowled over, till this. My 1st smell of it was hedgerow. Floral, light with not hint of any industrial cleaning agents. And then the taste. Shut your eyes and remember honey on toast. It's not sweet at all and there isn't a single punchy flavour, but it coats your mouth, and you find yourself sucking your tongue for more. But for £30, shut up and take my money because I paid far more for a lot worse. ”

Reviews for Tyrconnell Irish Whiskey

Sort by

Overwhelming pear drops, but nice finish

The tasting notes sounded great, but I was disappointed that the main taste was pear drops, a smell I don't particularly like. The aftertaste and finish is pleasant, but overall I didn't like it. The only other Irish whiskey I've had is Bushmills matured in rum flasks; that was much nicer.

Great value Irish Whisky

This is a lovely, smooth whisky with decent length on the palate and a real step up from the blended whiskies under £30. It's great value for money compared to other single malts, so can see this becoming firm favourite

Irish Glenmorangie 10

Solid and great value for money. Honey an butter on toast. But, why the artifical colouring?

Superb

Preferred this to the Green Spot Irish Whisky and its £10 cheaper so value for money

Aah

I love Irish whiskeys, they are usually sweet and easy to drink, Tyrconnell is not so sweet as most others and considerably more citrusy. No harshness at all, a lovely drink.
