Tullibardine 500 Sherry Cask Finish Reviews

Wonderful shirred malt at a great price.

I have it on my repeat prescription!

Eh! Top 10 bargain of a NAS malt.

Personally I think this is exceptional for a NAS single malt whisky.
It is everything I want for a late night glass. Heavy sweetness on the nose,
a little bight on the toffee/honeyed notes on the tip of the tongue and fuller
barbecued fruity sumptuousness lingering through to some seriously long lasting scrumptioness, nutty and stewed fruits on the finish. Lush and creamy.
Total bargain in my humble opinion.

A Fine malt

Typically, the usual negative experts spouting their rhetoric!!!. A lovely malt, pleasant in every way, and decent value... The End!

Gordon Ramsay would use very colourful language here...

Nose: Musty leather and some vanilla.

Palate: Sunday french chef cooked pie dinner.

After: Toffee red apple.

Will be buying again

Tullibardine isn't a distillery I'd heard of but took a chance on this and so glad I did. Really enjoyable and not at all harsh but lots of flavour.
Will definitely be buying again.

Excellent sherry cask finish. Smooth and very easy to sip.

On the nose: green apple orchards, set honey.
Palate: green toffee apple, honey, Jaffa cake.
Finish: mild, creamy, Cornish fudge.

It's a whiskey, but not as we know it

First taste - water. Then a slight burning on the tongue. Then a hint of oak and bitterness, then a hint of sweetness. Then a burning down the throat. Pretty weak all round

Great body, character and depth of flavours.

Blows so many similarly priced sherried whiskies away. Take this over a Dalmore any day!
Great body, character and depth of flavours. Nice spiced element gives it more interest.

Give it time to breathe

At first I couldn't figure out why I didn't like this I mean sherry finished highland whisky from a small/rare distillery should be a slam dunk right? Upon opening it was very fumey and it took quite a while for that to go away but there was still a sort of bitter almost soapy note I couldn't seem to get away from. But as of now I have discovered the key to drinking and really enjoying this whisky and that is to simply drink it neat water actually seems to ruin the flavor. Drinking it neat right now and I can't believe it's the same whisky so much honey, cinnamon apple and meadow flowers with a sweet toffee finish a fine dram indeed. Just goes to show some whiskies are best straight from the bottle just make sure you give some time to breathe. Cheers!

Awesome VFM, attitude, personality, and those oranges!

Oh my God. So much more than I expected. Like a 500cc Triumph with a reupholstered leather seat and customised tank. What's more, I have another bottle. Not sure where this sits on the spectrum, but this is the £45 whisky I have waited for all my life.
