Beautiful taste for a great price

Excellent sherry cask finish. Smooth and very easy to sip.

It's a whiskey, but not as we know it

First taste - water. Then a slight burning on the tongue. Then a hint of oak and bitterness, then a hint of sweetness. Then a burning down the throat. Pretty weak all round

Great body, character and depth of flavours.

Blows so many similarly priced sherried whiskies away. Take this over a Dalmore any day!
Great body, character and depth of flavours. Nice spiced element gives it more interest.

Give it time to breathe

At first I couldn't figure out why I didn't like this I mean sherry finished highland whisky from a small/rare distillery should be a slam dunk right? Upon opening it was very fumey and it took quite a while for that to go away but there was still a sort of bitter almost soapy note I couldn't seem to get away from. But as of now I have discovered the key to drinking and really enjoying this whisky and that is to simply drink it neat water actually seems to ruin the flavor. Drinking it neat right now and I can't believe it's the same whisky so much honey, cinnamon apple and meadow flowers with a sweet toffee finish a fine dram indeed. Just goes to show some whiskies are best straight from the bottle just make sure you give some time to breathe. Cheers!

Awesome VFM, attitude, personality, and those oranges!

Oh my God. So much more than I expected. Like a 500cc Triumph with a reupholstered leather seat and customised tank. What's more, I have another bottle. Not sure where this sits on the spectrum, but this is the £45 whisky I have waited for all my life.

Fantastic absolutely Fantastic.

So smooth and full of flavour, one of the nicest drams I have ever tasted.

A little too bland and a little too creamy for my palate

Delicious but a modern whisky...

My wife got me a bottle for Christmas and i was a bit unsure as its NAS but i must admit its very tasty. Its 43 percent but its got a very sweet butterscotch on the nose. I think if your a diehard traditionalist you might not approve of this. Its quite burny and the balance is overwhelmingly on the sweet side from the bourban cask enhanced with Sherry. If you enjoy a good sipping whisky that you can drink away at, its very pleasant.

I love my highland single malts. But this dram is over priced and bland. Nose smells sweet like a cheap bourbon and the taste is about as bland as a handful of fresh snow. Sorry I wasted my money I could have gotten a much better whisky for the price.

A taste of Scotland cracking drink

Outstanding wee dram

Good surprise

Wow, bought this on impulse. I'm a lover of sherry monsters but generally avoid nas whisky. Not as smooth as my usual tipple (BenRiach 15 PX) but satisfyingly rich with strong Molasses and Christmas cake notes. Sweet and creamy with a long after taste of winter spice and toffee. A touch hot but I've only just opened it so it may mellow a little.

This represents great value for money.

A wonderful creaminess and sweetness with long lasting finish

Over spiced and over priced.

After looking forward to trying this sherry cask. I was left disappointed almonds and spice overpower with not a lot more going on unless you really get your nose into your glass and the after burn and bitter taste just sits on the tongue. Maybe this needs a higher alcohol vol to help It out as I found with a little ice it really was flat.

Nice one.

Really enjoyed this sherry finish. Christmas came early with spice ,vanilla, chocolate and a wee touch of orange, only downside, no age statement.

Great Scotch for the Price Point

Recently tried this at our local pub (always trying to find new bottles to buy for the house), and this one knocked our socks off. We prefer sherry-casked, but the 500 was very different. I agree with other reviewers: vanilla, hint of chocolate, creamy and smooth. The burn takes a bit and it was the perfect amount. The sherry is more present in this bottle compared to the Tallisker Distillers Edition and the 12-Year Springbank Green, for reference.

Wallym likes this

Great sherry drop, apple toffee nose and taste, vanilla and fruity aftertaste with hint of Xmas spiciness.
Very nice and pleasant Christmas drink

Truly disappojntkng

I was excited to try this, but I ended up upset that I spent as much as I did on something so average and bland. For the price, you could get a much better whisky.

Behold a Santa popping into the chimney of your nose: Christmas wine spices and cinnamon. Chocolate dust, tiramisu, saddle leather. Been good? Here’s some tobacco and dried fruit onto your palate.

Liked it!

I really don't want to rate this very high because it's no-age-statement, chill-filtered, aka crap. But, fact of the matter is it's a well-balanced flavor profile, probably chocolate-covered-orange if anything, just the right amount of alcohol burn, and fresh enough not to be cloying. Probably better than lots of others I've had at double the price.

this whisky is creamy and smooth

Taste the Dream

Having treated myself to a bottle of this fine Malt while on holiday
in Dornoch last week I forced myself to wait until i got home to try it.
That wait was well worth it.I can honestly say it is one of the best malts i have tasted for some time.
