Another addition to Tullibardine's The Murray series - this time the distillery in the Highlands has finished its whisky in casks that previously held Sicilian Marsala wine! It was distilled back in 2006 and originally aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, before being transferred over to the Marsala casks for its final year of maturation.
Vanilla pod earthiness arrive first, but soon dissipates in to booze red wine and dark chocolate.
Coffee and more chocolate, now paired with raspberry and orange peel. A hint of clove underneath.
Layers of toffee, treacle and honey on the finish.
The sweet orange and chocolate taste just splendid.....aroma above all fantastic
I used to buy this loads... my favourite I have just bought a bottle.. an want to share... but now its sold out am reluctant to open it.. can I have 1 more bottle soo I can share ??? Please ?
An excellent whisky by this unsung hero distillery. Smooth, easy drinking with a lot of character.
Just bought this today from the visitor centre at the Tullibardine distillery and my gawd, it's effin lovely!
