Description

Tullibardine deserves more attention. We’re particularly fond of the distillery’s fermentary, ale-like character, and this bourbon cask gives those qualities plenty of room to shine. The oak influence is delicate. After 15 years, we reckoned it was ready for a wider audience, so we bottled it for the Master of Malt range at its cask strength of 55% ABV. A release of 200 bottles, without chill-filtration or added colour. Well worth getting acquainted.

Nose

Green tea, toasted and roasted, marmalade and wafts of “juicy” IPA notes.

Palate

Blood orange and tangerine, something like black pepper or even Chinese five spice, and something savoury making an appearance.

Finish

Yes, savoury still, moving to herbal and hoppy notes, pastry, paraffin, malt and some warehouse air. Classy and full of distinct (and complex!) character. Love it!
