A 40 year old single malt from Tullibardine, matured in sherry wood before bottling to commemorate the 2006 World Cup, only 300 bottles have been released.
The nose is very thick and supple. There are notes of barley sugar, toasted cereals and the whole is awash with toffee and vanilla fudge. There a notes of juicy stewed pears and Cox’s Orange Pippin. Notes of chewy sultanas and aged Cuban rum. The palate is of good body with a great richness. There are notes of golden syrup in both flavour and mouth feel, notes of sherried peels and sultanas, hints of rum and winter spice and a buttery note. The finish is quite thick and long. There are notes of crème de cacao and toffee apple with vanilla fudge and a touch of oak.
