Tullamore D.E.W. Rum Cask

The wonderful Tullamore D.E.W. has gone and finished its original blend of pot still, malt and grain Irish whiskeys in first fill Caribbean rum casks which previously held Demerara rum. As well as being a taste sensation, the expression pays tribute to the role that Irish immigrants played in the development of rum in the Caribbean back in the 17th century. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Cherry pie, lots of tropical mango and banana alongside buttery caramel, with sweet malt and rum spice.

Palate Lemon curd, caramelised pineapple and brown sugar, with oak spice and lots of dried fruit.

Finish Chewy orange sweeties, ripe banana drizzled with runny caramel, with a prickle of aromatic spice appearing on the finish.

Great Addition to the D.E.W Range
Having always loved the Standard D.E.W Sherry cask for it's great taste and value This rum cask addition was a must try.To Me the taste is sweet spiced caramel and the extra ABV 43% Is noticable.I think Tullamore has got this version again spot on for taste and value.This will be a must buy for Me every so often alongside the always great standard D.E.W.

Wonderful addition
Having been a Tullamore whiskey AKA Uisce Beatha as Tullach Mhór fan for many a year I was wondering what this new blend might be like.After the first sip all that vanished..now am totally enamoured and will be ordering many a future bottle

Takes Tullamore Dew to the next level
Having regular Tullamore Dew to hand for an AvsB taste test is a must. The caramel notes are predominant throughout the tasting experience of the rum cask and the higher ABV is so aubtly notable. What was a great bang-for-buck Irish becomes a little sweeter and more rounded in a brilliant way.

Very smooth
After having Teeling rum cask Irish whiskey I was super concerned as to how this Tullamore variant would drink.... However the standard Tullamore is so underrated and is a lovely dram for the price so I gave this a go.

It is simply lovely, smooth, fruity, sugar cookie, butterscotch, more fruit and quite frankly a very good layered drink.
