Description

A 14 year old, triple distilled Irish single malt whiskey from the Tullamore DEW range, which has been finished in bourbon, Port, Madeira and Oloroso Sherry casks - an expression not often seen on these shores.

Nose

Zesty citrus, grilled pineapple and slowly building bourbon-y vanilla.

Palate

Big, creamy malt with loads of vanilla tannins. Ripe, sweet red grapes and a hint of poached apple.

Finish

Sherried sweetness carries on.

Unremarkable

Got this from an Advent Calendar. Even for an Irish whisky, it's unremarkable. For all its promised complexity, I only got malt, some toast, and maybe a baked apple on the finish. Can't imagine why anyone would pick this over Redbreast 12, even if you're into Irish whisky.

My Sister gifted me this bottle of DEW 14 for my birthday. She knows that I like Malts and Pot still. My nose tells me that I'm going to like this whiskey. Wood and fruit on the nose. Peppery sweetness with a somewhat astringent after taste ( which I like). Good finish. Nice legs. This, IMHO, is a keeper. Thanks Sis, you done well.

Great whiskey and at a good price

I love Irish whiskeys and some of them can be quite pricey and not always worth it. I bought a sample to test this one and I was delighted. This is a great price for a really smooth and very drinkable whiskey. If in doubt read the reviews on here and buy a sample first. I will definitely be buying a bottle of this one this winter :-)

Very nice ..easy going down..not harsh. Bit of an oak flavor.

My neighbor gave me a bottle as an attempted bribe to go mushroom hunting in my forest. I hope he picks good ones.

I had a taste at a fast paced reception. Didn’t get to appreciate its breadth of character. Gave it a second chance tonight.
