Like the name suggests, Mars Tsunuki The First is the first single malt whisky from the Mars' Tsunuki Distillery! Previously, Mars has been ageing some single malt from its Shinshu Distillery at Tsunuki, but this expression is the very first time we get to taste whisky that was completely distilled at Tsunuki. It was bottled up in 2020 at 59% ABV, with 9,984 bottles produced. An exciting Japanese single malt, this!
Sultana, almond, dry oak, ripe cherry and some spicy ginger.
Still quite nutty, with more almonds and not chocolate peanuts. White grape, crisp apple and toffee.
It remains fruity on the finish, though subtly drying with cinnamon and peppercorn.
