Tormore Blueprint 10 Year Old Bourbon Barrel
Tormore distillery was taken over by Elixir Distillers in 2022, beginning production under the watchful eye of distillery manager Polly Logan in 2023. While we await the distillery's future releases, the Blueprint series offers us an exploration into the wood profiles that will form the foundation of the next generation of Tormore whiskies. This single malt spent 10 years maturing in bourbon barrels, resulting in layers of orchard fruits, peaches, honeyed sweetness, and gentle spice.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Soft stone fruits open the way, with candied citrus, vanilla, toasted coconut, and subtle hints of dried herbs beneath.
Palate
Peaches and pears, vanilla honey, a touch of melon, and citrus zest cushion gentle notes of bitter oak and herbaceous malt.
Finish
Zesty citrus, caramel, a touch of pepper, and rich oak.
