Overall

The nose is quite light and fresh. There are notes of cut hay and stemmy grass, cut flowers and a leafy note. Hints of resin and pine oil with malt extract and toasted barley, hints of cinnamon and pepper. The palate is of medium-body and very smooth. There are notes of Dundee marmalade with fresh zesty note. There are hints of slightly sour grape and fresh hay and grass. There are notes of barley sugar and a soft oak. The finish is of good length with a touch of oak and hay.

Reviews for Tormore 12 Year Old - 1990s

Sort by

Speyside with fresh savoury character

This Speyside single malt tastes a little different to others I am more familiar with. The tasting notes include grass and hay, perhaps lemon, pine and barley. Often other Speyside tasting notes read honey , vanilla etc so it is slightly different but distinctive.... to be honest I haven’t decided what I make of it yet, but am still pleasantly surprised ... to be fair only had one glass so far?

Best value for your money

Very smooth single malt. You can say it's too simple, but that's the point - it's simplicity worth every penny you've paid and even more.

Very Impressive

Bought this on a whim and I love it. I dare say it's one of the best single malts for the money I've ever tasted. It's a hair on the sweet side, but super smooth and flavorful.
