It's the second addition to the Legacy Series – and second-ever release of single malt from the exciting Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye, which first fired up its stills in 2017! Combining small batches of whisky distilled in 2017 and 2018, Allt Gleann captures the essence of Skye – brimming with roasty, smoky peat and plenty of maritime character. A very impressive expression indeed!
Wafts of woody tobacco and crumbly vanilla shortbread. Earthy peat smoke and a zing of lemon zest combine with a salty maritime note of smoked shellfish.
Bolder peat here, coastal tar with an oily texture, roasted, salted nuts, and light fruit salad. Floral wafts of heather, fennel, and a touch of metallic, medicinal pepper spice.
Sweeter fruit notes with apples and kiwi, vanilla oak and big hits of peat smoke, with continuing sea breeze and briny harbourside character.

Agree with other negative reviews. Harsh, immature and medicinal with little to like from start to finish. So many better drama there with pedigree to match the marketing hype.
I’ve just visited the Torabhaig distillery and can tell you it is well set up in a perfect location , at the confluence of two burns. I tasted this the second release . The Allt Gleann , and for all it’s a young malt it has character- lightly peated but creamy vanilla with a hint of sea salt . I look forward to their next release in 2024 , Legacy 2.
It would be ok if the finish didn't taste like the smell of TCP
If you like peat, it’s pretty decent but a bit underwhelming at first. Grows on you though.
I'm really not sure where all of these glowing reviews have came from. Considering its age (3 years I think) it's a pretty decent dram. Given its price, it's so far off! It has sweet notes, some complexity, but all of the harsh flavour you expect from a young malt. The initial flavour is not good and totally overwhelming. It's certainly not bad, but it's not worth half of its price. I'm looking forward to their age statement release. For now, pass on this and get a bottle of Tobermory if you want a well rounded un-peated island whisky Of course there is always the Talisker distillery, who for now at least are putting out much better stuff.
