Tomintoul 30 Year Old 1989 (cask 13917) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Three decades of ageing have crafted this indie Tomintoul! Distilled back in 1989, the Speysider rested in a single bourbon barrel for 30 years, until Douglas Laing bottled the single malt in April 2020. Just 280 cask strength bottles were released for the Xtra Old Particular series at 52.8% ABV, full of malt and brown sugar notes.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Rich, darkly malted, intriguingly spiced and fruity on its typically Speyside nose.
Palate
Warming and ginger spiced as the big palate opens showing later Muscovado sugar and the gentlest oak - all running to a stewed fruit and vanilla custard finish.
