Tomintoul 19 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Tomintoul 19 Year Old Bottling Note

Yet another cracking single cask we've been lucky enough to bottle, this time from Tomintoul, pronounced 'Tom-in-Towel' (although it's best not to think about that for too long). Distilled on 1st May 1995, it filled 186 bottles at natural cask strength on 1st April 2015. No foolin'.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Quite light and fragrant, with toasted English muffins - one side buttered, the other with a thin layer of honey. It moves on to crunchy apples, which grow warmer and slightly stewed later. Cinnamon and white pepper spice.

Palate Really bursts on the palate with whole walnut and dried apples. Developing juiciness with plenty of sultanas. Orange peels and a little bit of spicy cardamom.

Finish Very nutty on the finish, with crumbly chocolate digestives lasting on to the end.

Overall Wonderfully rounded and nutty, new notes emerge throughout but not one is out of place here.

The real deal. Amazing.
Absolutely fabulous. Very different to the 21 year old official bottling. Tasting notes above are spot on. Add just a drop of water and let it sit for 20 mins and you will be well rewarded.

A wonderful whisky
Wow! Bang for your bucks. This compares very well with whiskies you'd pay a lot more for. My partner's verdict: a very good whisky, smooth and drinkable. I'd go further: a wonderful whisky, smooth, delightful, and warming. One of my absolute favourites.

Fantastic
Treated myself to a sample of this. Trying to branch out from the usual suspects and explore the lesser known producers. Wow, glad I bought this. So floral and buttery. A real eye opener. I recommend you buy a sample and try it. Rather tempted to buy a full size bottle as a result. Doesn’t need water. Like drinking silk at full strength. Very little cask influence, however that’s why it’s so light and delicate. Well done MoM
