Sherry
This sherried Tomintoul was bottled up by Claxton's! Distilled in May 2005, the Speysider spent over a decade in a single sherry butt, until the indie bottler emptied the cask in 2020. The whisky was released at cask strength at 15 years old with an outturn of 255 bottles weighing in at 56.6% ABV.
Caramelised (and somewhat burnt) nuts, with some tropical sweetness peeking through rich, sherried dried fruit.
Cinnamon butter and gingerbread, with more tropical fruit notes alongside mocha and oily nuts.
A dusting of cocoa and dried banana linger.
