Tomintoul 14 Year Old 2005 (cask 6) - Sherry Butt Matured
14 year old single malt from Tomintoul, matured in a sherry butt from August 2005 to January 2020. It was bottled up at cask strength with an outturn of 694 bottles. Though Tomintoul's tagline is "The Gentle Dram", at 61.9% ABV, it still could use a drop or two of water to help mellow it out and unlock some of the fruity, vanilla-rich notes.

Nose
Malty, biscuit notes merge with raisins, hazel nuts, nougat and angelica.
Palate
Subtle and refined sherry influence. Complex but delicate mix of nuts, raisins and oaky spice.
Finish
Complex and well-balanced mix of sweet and spicy tones.
