Sherry
A wonderful Speyside single malt, distilled in October 2004 at Tomintoul. The whisky called a single Oloroso sherry butt its home for the next 13 years. Unlucky for some, but certainly not for this Tomintoul. It was September 2018 when the cask was cracked open and the delicious liquid was bottled at a rather punchy 59.2% ABV, with a limited outturn of 858 bottles.
Sweet butterscotch and dried fruits, caramelised nuts and smooth, creamy praline chocolate.
Oodles of sherry, honeyed cereal with more of those nutty notes from the nose alongside candied fruits and a delicate creaminess.
Rounded sherry lingers right until the end with just a hint of spice.
