Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Medium-body and well-balanced. There are notes of vanilla fudge and barley. Tones of malt extract and espresso, hints of mochaccino and oak.

Palate: Pleasingly viscous, with notes of barley sugar, toasty cereals, acacia honey and malt extract. Honeycomb, toffee and a touch of vanilla fudge.

Finish: Quite short, yet charming.

Tomintoul 10 Year Old Reviews

Not like the tasting notes

My bottle was too harsh and young. Nowhere near the expected when reading the tasting notes. I will not buy it again.

Did not enjoy it at all.

I debated a long time before purchasing Tomintoul, as some people really like it, and others' not so much: Well, I am now in the "not so much" category. Really did not find it at all enjoyable to drink -- quite odd tasting and rather harsh, not at all smooth and mellow like they quote on the bottle. There are so many other Scotch whiskeys' that I would rather purchase than this.

Delicious summer time after dinner dram.

This is a very drinkable whisky. More reminiscent of a top Irish whiskey. Undeniably smooth. Not much complexity here. I enjoyed it, especially the hints of vanilla and touch of citrus I get. I only wish it had more to offer from a bit higher ABV, even if it was 43% instead of the 40%. As it is I could see enjoying this after dinner sitting outside on a summer evening with some friends. If you’re looking for a very nice dessert whisky then you could do far worse.

Quiet enjoyable dram

My go to Whisky caramel and toffee nose, smooth and full flavoured honey and caramel. I dont drink a lot of whisky but have tried many, this is my favourite by a fare way

Introductory single malt for those that want to start

Nice nose of vanilla, with a touch of orange peel, smokeless. On the palate, cereal, with a slightly citrus, with a nice mouthfeel of oils, medium finish of barley

Beautiful mellow flavour.

Just tasted a series of 5 samples over different evenings: Tomintoul, Glencadam, Arran, Penderyn Legend, The Ileach. Rated them in that order. A few drops of Tomintoul provided a delicious, smooth effect - beautiful aroma, taste, and very mellow. The Ileach was a big disappointment - very harsh. The word 'creosote' was exchnaged between my wife and I...

Not much to it

There are much better Speyside whiskies at the price point in my opinion.

Nose: harsh, sweet, citrus, fudge.
Palatte: watery (direct opposite to MoM tasting note) and mellow.
Finish: very short with no burn.

Warming with caramel

Very nice, harsher than I expected at first but a smooth caramel finish. On the nose it’s very much fudge and caramel.

Positvely morish

Absolutely delightful

The best

I love it. It's my favourite. The best ever for my taste. Smooth and delightful.
