Tomatin distillery's new no-age-statement release uses virgin oak as well as bourbon casks. It provides a new entry level to the Tomatin range but the use of different casks make this a unique expression.
Lemon, panatella and pine forest. Slightly green with vanilla.
Cracked pepper and sweet barley with pineapple cube sweets. Waves of warming oak beneath.
Sweet but peppered.
A clean and certainly affordable single malt whisky.

Very young and harsh, the alcohol suppresses everything. But fruit in the nose, and nice sweet on palate. It is worth leaving it in the air even for a long time. Then much better, than a black label at the same price. The dry residue is the most beautiful I have seen, strawberry flavor comes out!
what a find. great price and very smooth and soft whisky. why spend money on expensive blends when you can have a top quality single malt for such a great price. highly recommended.
It's pleasant on the nose, you can definitely get the scent of the barrels which is nice but... I can normally have a few then finish the bottle on the same night but I find this has a certain lacking to the flavour, it smarts a little and leaves a very harsh aftertaste. Not my preferred choice.
Very nice indeed, fresh, fruity, citrussy in the nose. A bit disappointing on the palate, still fruity and full of lemony crispyness but more and more on the hot side. A bit too young to be bottled (guess it is 5-6 yo). No big offence as Glendronach 8yo is IMHO hotter and with more burn on the tongue. Nevertheless one of the most budget malts for everyday sipping:)
