Tomatin Cask Strength

Enjoy some Tomatin single malt Scotch whisky presented at cask strength - a generous 57.5% ABV. Introduced in early 2015, this is the first cask strength bottling to join Tomatin's core range, and is matured in a combination of bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. With their range growing more and more, it's certainly exciting days for the distillery in the Highlands.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Opens with home-made ice-cream drizzled with caramel and crushed walnuts, then moves on to Seville orange, red berries and black pepper.

Palate Crystallised ginger, green apple and a touch of salty sea air. Sweet chocolate and cooking spices, growing intense on the mid-palate.

Finish Lasting notes of vanilla pod and crumbly fudge.

Sweet with a burn
It's a really tasty and sweet dram that begs to be drunk, but that cask strength badge comes with a little burn in the aftertaste. Savour the flavour, and don't gulp it down.

Fabulous single malt.
I bought a bottle of this at the Tomatin Distillery on July 2nd 2023, 5 days ago while doing a loop of the UK in a VW Transporter Camper. We came home early today as one of our Fur persons has a very sore and swollen foot after an accident at Dornoch Beach in the Highlands. We left Ayr at 10:30am this morning and arrived home in Bedfordshire at 21:00 this evening and decided to have a taste of this thinking it was going to be rocket fuel. How mistaken could we be, it is Amazing. Sweet syrup, then a chilli, pepper hit, mellowing down to xmas cake with marzipan and a salty sea lapping at your tongue. 100% recommended.

My favourite dram so far
Being a newbie to whisky, I find it difficult to describe all the flavours as you would find in tasting notes, but one thing I can tell, this is my favourite dram, a little water and it goes down a treat, I need to order more soon!
It’s a lovely lovely whisky, and a good price for Cask Strength

lovely...watch out A'Bunadh!
a lovely dram..in a recent tasting session,it was likened to Aberlour A'bunadh (but without the ridiculous price tag) and some said as good.Rich, full, sherry mouth feel..I'd recommend for cask strength sherry bomb fans!
