Tomatin 16 Year Old 2001 (cask 1153) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)

A bourbon-matured Tomatin here, this Highlander spent its days (or rather, years) in a single bourbon cask! It was eventually bottled at 16 years old by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for its Cooper's Choice series, with 320 bottles released at 52.5% ABV. Despite the sweet cask influence, this single malt manages to remain a fiery, spicy affair.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Gingersnap biscuits and peppery oak, with strawberries and cream in support.

    Palate

Less sweet, with another kick of ginger and black pepper followed by anise and earthy vanilla.

    Finish

A spiced, oaky finish, with creamy nuances alongside ripe orchard fruit.
