Tomatin
Scotland
Single Malt
The Tomatin 14 Year Old was introduced to the core range in 2014. It features Highland single malt matured in bourbon barrels as well as specially selected Port casks, imparting wine-like sweetness to the whisky.
Quite a powerful nose. Big bunches of red berries and grapes. Vanilla, oak and hints of white pepper.
Dark chocolate dipped in strawberries. Crushed almonds, walnuts, Victoria sponge (with plenty of the prerequisite jam and cream in the middle) and a centre of oak.
Fruity on the finish.
A neat addition to Tomatin's collection.

Tried and picked up a bottle of this from the Scotch Experience in Edinburgh. Then visited the Distillery in Tomatin and picked up a different bottle. I would have to say this is the best scotch I’ve ever had. So glad I can still get this while back home.
N – Dried red fruit, oak, strawberry, honey, honeycomb, lemon, nutty and melon tones. P – It’s oh so velvety smooth and sweet, Rich red fruit, oak, chocolate, dried fruit, coffee, fresh chocolate muffin. Great mouth feel. F – It’s got a long finish, slight dryness, masses of rich red fruit, chocolate, hazelnut, oak, coffee… It’s a really long finish, orange peel, more chocolate muffin… it’s still going, slight mint and melon rolls around with that dried fruit. C – I LOVE THIS WhiskyWings
A lovely fruity dessert dram, strong up front and long in the back. Fruity, a bit of mellow spice, vanilla perhaps, and a warming finish.
Tried this at the distillery, surprised at the initial nose of oak and vanilla which gave way to christmas cake on the palate. The finish was of good length and warming.Good example of a port wood finish.
Very interesting dram at a great price. Very happy to have this in my collection, adds great contrast to most drams.
