Tobermory 19 Year Old 1999 - Marsala Cask Finish
Over on the Isle of Mull in the year 1999, this tasty Tobermory single malt was being distilled. Then, it was matured for nearly two decades, the final period of which was spent finishing in Marsala wine casks. It was eventually bottled at 19 years old, with a limited outturn of 1,134 bottles at cask strength, a warming 55.7% ABV. Lots of lovely syrupy notes over here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Caramelised coffee beans, with a touch of dark orange chocolate, orange blossom, maple syrup and buttery pear tart.
Palate
Silky golden syrup, with fresh toast and orange marmalade alongside slightly burnt toffee.
Finish
Vanilla fudge and candied orange citrus on a lengthy, cinnamon-spiced finish.
