Peallach (Ledaig) 10 Year Old 2014 - Glaschu Spirits Co.
Peallach is a pseudonym for Ledaig – Tobermory's peated single malt, and Glaschu Spirits Co. has bottled up a fine example here! Distilled in 2014, this whisky spent 10 years maturing, with just over nine years in a refill barrel followed by an eight-month finish in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrique from the Ximénez-Spínola bodega in Jerez, Spain.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dark, rich layers of cherry liqueur, sweet wood smoke, figs, and beach bonfire.
Palate
Sticky toffee pudding and rich cocoa join layers of orange marmalade, sweet peat smoke, and spiced stone fruits.
Finish
Smouldering embers, honeyed dates, dark chocolate.
