Single Malt
Tobermory
Scotland
A light hued single malt from the Tobermory distillery on Mull. Ledaig represents peated single malt from the distillery.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Quite light and well-balanced. There is a certain freshness, pertained from notes of cut hay and straw, barley sugars and herbs, notes of cereals and melted salty butter on granary toast.
Medium-bodied with a richness. There are notes of gentle wood smoke and barley sugars, a farmy note with hints of hay and a roots with a touch of cereal sweetness and caramel.
Long and slightly herbal.

I used to like mixing this with older speysides to add a little smoothness to a young whisky. I can't remember it well enough to give it a mark but if you like Peat it's worth a punt.
Five for value
cheekily of course in Glasgow yesterday. Criteria not exported and bit smoky. Great stuff, loved it! Should have bought two bottles to pass Finnish winter.
I picked this up in Morrisons for £18 and thought I was drinking a £50+ plus bottle. Sure, I love Lagavulin but this delivered a young peaty deliciousness that was staggering. I spent a long weekend playing golf in the Hebrides with this in the hip flask and even my brother, who is not much of a drinker, thought this was tremendous. Redolent of the finest part of Scotland and an incredible bargain.
Couldn't believe it was £17 a bottle, so had to have one. Far better than any number of blends which are only slightly cheaper.
