Single Malt
Tobermory
Scotland
A light hued single malt from the Tobermory distillery on Mull. Ledaig represents peated single malt from the distillery.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Quite light and well-balanced. There is a certain freshness, pertained from notes of cut hay and straw, barley sugars and herbs, notes of cereals and melted salty butter on granary toast.
Medium-bodied with a richness. There are notes of gentle wood smoke and barley sugars, a farmy note with hints of hay and a roots with a touch of cereal sweetness and caramel.
Long and slightly herbal.
is it pronounced lechaig?
I have over 75 bottles of Scotch to be fair I never tasted this particular year but have a bottle of 20 year Ledaig and was only 65.00 US dollars in 2010 and just bought another one today for the same price----- I considered this one of my favorites and will match it against Scotch I have 6 times the price
One of the finest whiskies, ever;so mild on the palate, you could drink a bottle without realising it!
No great complexity, but light and peaty - an easy dram to enjoy at the end of the day rather than those special evenings, save your expensive aged expressions for that. It's just a little too easy to enjoy some nights, the bottle seems to empty itself! I liked the comment on TCP - it does have that peaty medicinal taste - but unlike the other reviewer, I like that.
like tasting TCP far to peaty
