Ledaig 42 Year Old 1972
CHARITY AUCTION NOW OPEN
An ultra-old and rare example of Tobermory's peated whisky, Ledaig, distilled back in 1972 and matured for a massive 42 years. Having finished its maturation in an oloroso sherry cask (just look at that hue!), the whisky was selected by Tobermory master blender Julieann Fernandez for this exclusive, one-off bottling. There's only one in existence, making this a truly unique collector's piece.
This charity auction will raise money for The BEN (the Scottish Drinks & Hospitality Benevolent Charity) and Hospitality Action to support all the fantastic work they both do. CVH Spirits are donating the full bottle costs to the former, while we're donating everything raised above that (all margin) to the latter.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Rich and complex, with sherry aromas. Sooty smokiness, fragrant wood, toffee apple, briny with sweet biscuit maltiness.
Palate
Dry evolving to a rich smoky oloroso sherry character. Complex layers of dark chocolate, coffee and cherry liqueurs. Extremely smooth, well balanced with spicy ginger and black peppercorn overtones.
Finish
Dry, smooth and spicy, with a salty smoky tail.
