That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Scotland
Single Malt
A peaty treat from the isle of Mull, matured for 19 years before being bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This comes from the Tobermory distillery and was released under the Ledaig name, as is the done thing for peated Tobermory whisky. Pretty scary looking mythological-looking chap on the label with a war hammer. That's exciting.
Batch 4 is a release of 1121 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Classic Ledaig – all roadworks, smoky bacon, peppercorn sauce, chamois leather and metallic peat, but also some aromatic lemon zest and a floral airiness, too.
Chilli spice, black peppercorns, an earthier peatiness this time. Roast pork sausages with a smoky apple sauce, a malty element, and some rich 90% cocoa dark chocolate for good measure.
All about the leathery peat smoke and a sweet chilli kick.
Signature Ledaig with all the delights it brings.
This one was great
Burning car tyres. Not much else. I agree, totally bonkers, but not in a good way for me!
Not for the faint-hearted, but if you like big peat and smoke this is great.
Ledaig is not for the faint of heart, those who like their Whisky subtle, mellow, gentle. It's more akin to the pangalacticgargleblaster of THHGTTG. But, for those who enjoy feeling a Whisky run around their mouth, giving their tongue and tastebuds a good shake. This might be right up your street, as it is, right up mine
Very disappointing. I find the 10 yr old Ledaig is very good value and easy drinking and I was excited to try this but I couldn’t even finish my dram. Not good!
