Here we have a vintage 2001 Ledaig from Tobermory distillery, bottled by Murray McDavid for their Benchmark series. This softly peated whisky was aged in a bourbon barrel before being finished in a Jurancon wine barrique. Only 274 bottles were released, all bottled at a healthy 59% ABV.
Dried fruit, honey and vegetal smoky tones.
Charcoal, smoke and grilled pineapple with boozy wine undertones.
Long-lasting and sweet, with caramel and raisins.
