An independent bottling of Ledaig single malt Scotch whisky, matured in a single hogshead cask from October 1997 to November 2014. Ledaig is the name used by the Tobermory distillery for their peated whiskies, so expect a good core of smoke and peat in this one! It was bottled for Càrn Mòr's Celebration of the Cask range with an outturn of 254 bottles.

damn this is a fine rendition of ledaig, The cask used must have been an absolute banger as the nose of this more than peat is sweet vanilla and camomile, not really for those who love that peaty nose but theres plenty to be found in the taste. Smokey slightly sulphurous notes along with a dash of phenolic TCP and then almost a barbecue charcoal smoke which lasts into a long finish with a rounded sweetness tying it all together. It doesn't strike me as a 17 year old whiskey as I dont get the same maturity as I would from the official 18 year old bottling but its delicious in a fresh impactful way. If you find yourself a bottle, then I am envious (I have only had a sample, and it was damn good)
