Ledaig 15 Year Old 2008 (cask 17765) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Ledaig is the name given to peated whisky produced at Tobermory distillery. This single cask single malt is part of an outturn of only 349 bottles, distilled in 2008 and matured in a refill hogshead for 15 years. It was independently bottled in 2023, without added colour or chill filtration, for the Old Particular series from Douglas Laing.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose

Damp earth immediately. The comes bonfire ash and treacle.

Palate

More of that earth character, with allspice, peated malt, and heavily charred oak.

Finish

Long, with smoked bacon and damp ash balanced by burnt sugar sweetness.
