Sherry
A well sherried and wonderfully smoky Ledaig, distilled at Tobermory in February 2007. The single malt took a 12 year long sleep in a single sherry butt on the Isle of Mull, until Douglas Laing independently bottled the Highlander in May 2019. A limited 314 bottles were released for the Old Particular range at 48.4% ABV.
Sweet and smoky, with earthy peat, smoked meats, cooked pear, barley sugar and plum jam.
A sprinkle of rock salt, smoky bacon, seaweed, blackcurrant jam and black pepper.
Charred orange peel, more jammy berries, bonfire ash, damp sea air and oak char.
