Hello Darkness! my old friend... This is a 17 year old Tobermory single malt Scotch whisky, which has enjoyed a finishing period in a specially coopered 50 litre oloroso Sherry cask. These tiny casks can increase the interaction between the wood and the whisky, resulting in brilliantly bold Sherried goodness - which we think pairs very well with Tobermory's tremendous unpeated Island single malt...
Raspberry ripple rice pudding, juicy blackcurrants and juicy malt. Full of life this one, with some walnut and honey notes below the surface.
Fruit again to the fore initially with some orange peel, quickly replaced by dark caramels, then into thick and rich nuttiness.
Plenty more rich and nutty Oloroso goodness.
