Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1994

Distilled at Tobermory in 1994, this was aged in a bourbon cask of 16 years, some of which time was spent in Islay at the Bruichladdich distillery, where it was bottled by Murray McDavid. A release of 353 bottles.
Classic “Winesky” nose, as Serge Valentin would say! It has that dessert wine character – like a sort of overripe grape sweetness. It also seems much younger than it is. There’s a gristy, almost new make-like note coming off it, which slowly develops into Ovaltine and ginger biscuits.
Creamy and sweet. Very, very honeyed. It’s almost like really sweet iced tea. Some wood, a farmyard note and peppery spices.
Good length. Peppery, spicy and faintly fruity.
