Sutherland 9 Year Old 2010 (Thompson Bros.)
A mystery Highland single malt from Thompson Bros. distilled in August 2010! They've has given us a bit of a clue with the name, we reckon - Sutherland... Now why is that familiar...? It spent nine years in a single refill American oak barrel until it was bottled at 51.3% ABV, with an outturn of 320 bottles. Oh, and there's a cute little kitty on the label, which we reckon is another clue as to which distillery this hails from...

Nose
Chocolate cake batter, golden syrup and oak char.
Palate
Set honey, chocolate spread and earthy vanilla pod.
Finish
Gentle oak spice, more honey and candied ginger.
