They say the early bird catches the worm, we say the indie bottler catches the cask. Well, we don't – but we might start! Thompson Bros. certainly landed a good pair of casks here, filled with glorious single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery. The whisky was matured for 15 years, including a two year finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. 552 bottles were released in total. Oh, and there is a bird on the label, breakfasting on some juicy worms. Guess that probably would have made the first sentence we wrote make more sense if we mentioned that.
Stewed fruits, malty biscuits, and butter fudge.
Poached pears and baked apples with caramel, wafts of nutmeg, and candied ginger.
Pepper creeps in with warming, mellow oak, creamy barley, and Florentines.
