Lowrie's Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky (Thompson Bros.) 70cl

An impressive blended Scotch from Thompson Bros., which began with a core of three hogsheads filled with heavily sherried, reasonably matured blended Scotch. These were vatted alongside two barrels of 11-year-old, bourbon-matured Speyside single malt, and a hearty helping of 28-year-old Strathclyde single-grain. Then for the wild card element, or the bay leaf in the ragu as the Thompson gang puts it – they added a small amount of Thompson Bros.' SRV5 Blended Scotch, which had been rested an Australian shiraz cask that had since been used to mature beer at Edinburghs's Campervan Brewery!
