You can expect powerful peat, minerality, and beautiful balance in this mystery Highlander from the Thompson Bros.! Matured for a generous 18 years, this single malt was bottled at a satisfying 48.5% ABV, and it's layered with nutty malt, oily peat, and smoky salinity.
Charred Hazelnuts, dusty peated malt/grist, Burnt sage, rosemary, oily fishing ropes, tar and creels. Crushed seashells and heather smoke. Touches of fruits – quince and apple peel.
Very powerful with sharp citrus, heather honey, stewed apples, minerality – salt and wet slate. Some smoked ham, anchovies and capers in brine. Malty, salty and moreish.
Salty peanut brittle, the peat stays – and is powerful—quite earthy and robust – with lingering cigar smoke.
