The Woodsman

The Woodsman is a blended Scotch whisky from Whyte & Mackay (owners of Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura and Tamnavulin), designed for use in cocktails and mixed drinks. Particularly oak-y, as you might expect from the name, with plenty of vanilla and nutty malt notes in tow. Nothing to do with Justin Timberlake's album Man of the Woods.

Nose

Sandalwood, honey, almond slices and sawdust.

Palate

Creamy vanilla, ginger root, slight grain sweetness.

Finish

A touch of smoke underneath spearmint and cinnamon.

Good evening tipple

Tried for the first time tonight. Usually a Haig drinker but liked the look of The Woodsman. For a blended whiskey not disappointed very drinkable!!?

A decent blend

I bought this today on offer for £18. I’m just enjoying my first sample with a little water. It’s not my favourite whiskey, far from it, but for the price I’m very happy. A nice smooth blend. At £18, I would buy it again.

First time I've tried woodsmanReally enjoyed it pleasent enough blend they say a scotch for mixing found it good enough with an ice cube to sip on

Presently suprised

When I first smelt with whisky I have to be honest I was a bit worried. I tried this neat and it is actually very nice for a blended whisky. I would actually try theixed with ginger ale or Old Fashioned.
