This richly peated blended malt from the Vintage Malt Whisky Co. was aged in American Oak casks from Islay and the Highlands, before it was bottled with 30ppm of phenol at 46% ABV, with an outturn of 4200 bottles.
The flavour balances sweet and salty notes, but still carries a big, smoky flavour that hits you like a... Like some enormous form of transportation... I can't think of which one... Oh, it has a nice train on the bottle label too!
With sweet peat smoke there's some creamy vanilla, soft citrus and a hint of iodine. Prickles of ginger linger.
The smoke becomes thicker and drier as the spice sweetens in a brilliantly oily palate. Floral honey keeps things interesting throughout.
Long and drying.
This smoked whisky is AMAZING! GOD DAMN ITS GOOD! Its VERY smoke! 30bpm might sound like nothing, BUT IT IS! It tastes like 80 bpm! Would recomend!
Best blend I ever had!!
This is not heavily peated/smoked, as the name suggests. It´s sweet, fruity and oaked, reminds me of Cogniag/Brandy.
Halfway down my first bottle of this and still perplexed as to the blend. It's incredibly high quality for the price
