We don't know which distillery this whisky came from, but we do know it's on the Isle of Orkney...
What is clear is that this single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2005 and matured for 12 years in a single bourbon barrel. It was bottled as part of The Cooper's Choice series from The Vintage Malt Whisky Company at 46% ABV.
The name Skara Brae refers to a Neolithic settlement located on the Bay of Skaill on the west coast of Orkney.
Honey-coated green apple, oaky vanilla and citrus blossom, with heather and salted chocolate underneath.
Floral malt, stewed apples and barrel char spice are present, with helpings of butterscotch and fresh ginger in support.
A dry spiciness lingers, with hints of leafy basil.
