Bourbon
A rather secretive single malt here from The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.'s Cooper's Choice indie bottling range. While we don't know which distillery produced it, we do know it was distilled on Orkney back in December 2005, and matured in a single bourbon cask for 15 years. In 2021, it was bottled at cask strength, with a nice round number of bottles produced - 360 of them.
Oatcakes with a little dollop of fruit chutney, plus some smoky bonfire embers.
Richly malty, with a crisp hint of apple and lemon along the way. A few flakes of sea salt, too.
Lasting coastal salinity, with another smidge of citrus.
