Description

It's the sixth parcel from The Single Malts of Scotland's Reserve Casks series. This expression was distilled at an undisclosed Speyside distillery in 2008 and filled into three ex-sherry casks, where it remained for a dozen years until eventually being bottled in 2021.

Nose

Sweet, sherried sultanas and nutty notes of maple syrup mingle with gently woody vanilla, earthy, musty coffee, and dark ginger cake.

Palate

Seedy toasted bread with plenty of butter and silky honey, dried orange peels, and more roasted nuts follow bittersweet baking spices, charred oak, butterscotch, and treacle toffee.

Finish

Dark fruit cake, raisins, spiced notes of clove, and anise with whisps of nutmeg and ginger balancing sweet, oaken caramel.
