American Sour Mash 5 Year Old (cask P311) - The Single Cask Reviews

Superb American spirit

This is by far the best American whiskey I have ever tasted, even compared to all bourbons.
The tasting notes supplied by Master of Malt are quite spot on, but I would elaborate that on the palate, you experience cherry, marzipan and glue (yes, glue is not an uncommon tasting note). It really has a deep, complex mouthfeel due to the high alcohol 59.7% ABV.

Out of the 115 bottles produced, I own five of them and I am currently deep into bottle no. two.

This is a superb release of an American product, highly recommended from my side.

I rate it at a whopping 96 / 100.
