The Sexton Single Malt Bottling Note

The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. After, the liquid is aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks imparting a rich and fruity character. It comes in a rather eye-catching hexagonal bottle, too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Rich aromas of nuts, marzipan and dark chocolate with a pinch of spice.

Palate: Dried fruit followed by honeycomb sweetness, apricots, lemon zest, prunes and oak spice.

Finish: Woody on the finish, with honeyed sweetness coming through.

Sexton Single Malt Reviews

Best Irish whiskey I've had at a fantastic price

I'm a scotch drinker, and have occasionally tried some Irish whiskeys. This one really impressed me, and reminds me of single malt Scotch whisky. Here in GA I've found it around $26, which is an amazing value. Sweet and fruity, a little spicy.

Fantastic dram

This is rich in sherry, chocolate and liquorice, it's thick and delicious. Burnt sugar and caramels mixed with fruits - it is incredible value for such a mouth filling amount of flavour

Not for me

I tried this but it really wasn't for me. I found it quite citrussy tasting to the point it was quite bitter, like Grapefruit. Cool looking bottle though.

Easy to drink. Smells great, yet i would say it needs more depth and complexity, as i find it a little plain. The aftertaste is also good. It's ok for the price.

Fantastic Whiskey

An amazing whiskey, so smooth and easy to drink. And for the price its a bargain would happily pay more and have done for not as good a whiskey.

What Bushmills Black Bush Tried to Copy - for $10 less!

Add a drop of water and it's a smoother Black Bush. For $30 instead of $40. The pictures on the site have it poured over ice so it needs that drop of water. But it also is very mellow and perfect for mixed drinks as well. Bushmills blends get weak fast when mixed in something, and this doesn't. The better Bushmills, well, they are $45-60 a bottle and honestly not really much better.

Bushmills is obviously trying to copy her work with their newer products, but she took her secrets with her when she left the company. :)
