The Sexton Single Malt Bottling Note

The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. After, the liquid is aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks imparting a rich and fruity character. It comes in a rather eye-catching hexagonal bottle, too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Rich aromas of nuts, marzipan and dark chocolate with a pinch of spice.

Palate: Dried fruit followed by honeycomb sweetness, apricots, lemon zest, prunes and oak spice.

Finish: Woody on the finish, with honeyed sweetness coming through.

Lovely aroma of dark fruits and sherry.
One of the best and will definitely be returning to.

Many pleasant flavours
A great mix of flavours that work sell together. A bit of sweetness with some honey flavour and some woody bottom end taste.
Not too harsh to start with and then is a bit of a burner - it certainly can't be considered smooth - but it's the combination of flavours that make it a winner for me

I was getting a hint of liquorice which I really enjoyed although no other reviews mentioned this so maybe just me

All said and done, this is a good pour, and I’d be happy to be served this!
Nose: hints of nuttiness, with an abundance of honey and fruity sweetness.. a bit of oak in there too.

Palate: chocolate and berries, with a tinge of spice, no ethanol flavour to be found.

Visual: beautiful legs when swirled, gorgeous copper colour (though cannot say if it’s due to aging, or because of additives)

All in all, for the price, I’ve had better Irish Single Malts, but all things considered, it meets all the requirements of a good Irish Whiskey.

Excellent value for money
A very nice whiskey that punches well above it's price point. Can definitely tell its a young whiskey but goes down well with a smooth finish. Had it neat on ice

Brilliant single malt at an incredible price point.
Very simply, its Christmas cake in a glass. Well done to the creators team fornproducing a truly beautiful single malt. The abv should appeal to a greater swathe of the buying public and this msy have been the master distillers intention. There are many cs examples in the marketplace so if this is what you want, please do not castigate the Alex for creating this sublime masterpiece of a sipping single malt.

It’s not whiskey, it’s perfection
I bought this after meeting Ross Marquand from the Walking Dead, he convinced me to try it! Was not disappointed. A smooth, light and sweet whiskey! Up there with my top single malt whiskeys and plus I absolutely love the bottle.
