The Sexton Whiskey

The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey, crafted by Alex Thomas, is a fine example of Irish whiskey-making. Made from Irish malted barley, it undergoes triple distillation in copper pot stills. This process gives it smoothness and purity. Then, it ages in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. These casks give the whiskey a rich, fruity taste.

Made in Northern Ireland's Antrim region, The Sexton is known for its whiskey history. Alex Thomas not only created the whiskey but also designed its unique bottle. The hexagonal shape is striking. It's inspired by the basalt rocks on Ireland's north coast. This design celebrates the whiskey's Irish roots and the landscape where it comes from.

The whiskey matures for four years in the sherry casks. This ageing is crucial for its complex flavours. The casks add depth and rich notes, making The Sexton stand out.

Tasting Notes

Expect a nose of marzipan, and dark chocolate with a touch of spice. The palate offers up notes of dried fruit, honeycomb, apricots, lemon zest, prunes, and oak spice. This gives way to a woody, honeyed finish.

Awards and Recognition

The brand has won awards for both its spirit and bottle design. It received Gold at The Spirits Artwork and Bottle Design Awards in 2018. It also got recognition at the IWSC Design & Media Awards.

The Sexton is a tribute to Irish whiskey tradition and modern innovation. Its detailed distillation, ageing in sherry casks, and the bottle design make it a standout Irish whiskey. It's great neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. The Sexton offers a rich flavour experience for both whiskey lovers and new drinkers.
