The Sassenach is the first whisky launched by Sam Heughan (who you may know as the actor who plays Jamie Fraser on hit sci-fi TV show Outlander), inspired by picturesque Highland landscapes. Expect waves of butterscotch, fresh citrus and warming spices from this tasty blended Scotch whisky.
Fresh apricot and orange, with a drizzle of caramel and a slow build of cinnamon.
Waves of honey and vanilla fudge, dotted with raisin, almond and another helping of cinnamon spiciness.

Tasted Scotch whisky many yrs ago and it was the worst! I said never again! Married to an Irish-Scot who loved his liquer, I was exposed to all of the best but took no liking to any of them. Then Sam Heughan brought about "The Sassenach"! Game changer! I bought it on a whim since l'm not anyone's idea of a drinker, and figured the others in my family might enjoy it. We had a major tasting using the Glencairn crystal whisky glasses I ordered. We swirled, we sniffed, we sipped! It was so good! Everyone was pleasantly surprised, including me! So, take it from me and my family, Sassenach is a winner! Sam Heughan has a right to be proud. Happy to see his baby win the Gold in LA, too!
The problem with trying a new Whiskey is that they're expensive and you might end up with well-marketed shovelware. (Here's looking at you, balvenie triple cask). I was worried that the Sassenach had reviewed well but only from fans of the show (if you look outside of this site, it's usually first time whiskey drinkers and fans of the series) Just received my bottle on Thursday and I'm happy to say it's pretty good stuff and a good every day drinker.
It is so smooth. That makes it very enjoyable. The citrus finish is so nice. The bouquet is lovely. My sons are whisky snobs, and they really like Sassenach. So bravo from my crew.
